Houses beside Monte del Pilar

Air-source heat pumps and rewired electrics for the houses of Fuentelarreina

Beside Monte del Pilar, we take care of the technical side of homes surrounded by greenery with the same respect for the surroundings that the location itself calls for.

Housing type in Fuentelarreina

Detached housing beside the hills

Fuentelarreina, bordering Monte del Pilar and close to El Pardo, is one of the greenest detached-housing enclaves within the M30. Houses in the area tend to have generous plots, good distance between homes, and a climate somewhat more pronounced than the rest of the city because of its proximity to the hills, with colder winters and summers that benefit from the shade of the surrounding vegetation. Many of these houses already have some age in their heating and electrical installations, designed for energy consumption very different from today's. The area's own terrain and vegetation mean the siting of any system's outdoor unit needs extra care.

Climate control

Heat pump adapted to the local microclimate

We size heat pump systems taking into account that Fuentelarreina records somewhat lower winter temperatures than central Madrid because of its proximity to the hills, so the installation comfortably covers heating, cooling and hot water throughout the year.

Underfloor heating and cooling avoids the need for bulky radiators and keeps a stable temperature throughout the home, while the outdoor unit is sited at a point on the plot that doesn't interfere with the landscaped areas or the view towards the hills.

Electrical

EV charging and power for a house with a garage

We install the EV charging point in the owner's own garage in accordance with ITC-BT-52, first checking the contracted power and the state of the consumer unit, a common weak point in houses with installations several decades old.

We renew the outdoor lighting for the garden and access areas with weatherproof LEDs, and add smart-home features to manage irrigation, lighting and air conditioning from a single system, designed for a plot with a lot of outdoor space to look after.

A common case in Fuentelarreina

In Fuentelarreina houses more than twenty years old, it's common for gas heating to fall short on the coldest winter nights because of the proximity to the hills, forcing auxiliary heaters to stay on for months. At the same time, the original electrics rarely have room for an EV charging point. We check both systems together.

Fuentelarreina, in figures

This is the Madrid district of Fuencarral-El Pardo.

Fuentelarreina does not have separate official statistics of its own — these are the official figures for the Madrid district it belongs to.

246.281Residents of Fuencarral-El Pardo (2022)
85.852Households in Fuencarral-El Pardo (2015)
2.71Average household size (2015)
24.644 €Average income per resident (2019)

The largest district in the city of Madrid by area (less than 50% built up, due to the Monte de El Pardo woodland). Neighbourhoods such as Mirasierra, Valverde/Tres Olivos, Montecarmelo and Fuentelarreina are residential developments mostly dating from the late 20th century and 2000s (PAUs) — a relatively recent housing stock compared with the historic centre.

Heat pump and electrics for the outdoor pool area

Cause
In Fuentelarreina houses with an outdoor pool, the pump, filtration equipment and, where fitted, the pool heat pump share an area exposed to the elements that requires different electrical protection from the inside of the home.
Effect
An installation designed only for summer use, without adequate outdoor protection, degrades faster than expected from rain and the garden's ambient humidity.
Prevention
Size the pool area's consumer unit for outdoor use from the outset, with its own dedicated RCD protection.
ANNA's diagnosis
ANNA reviews the electrical installation of the pool and garden area as a separate unit within the property's technical report.
